Kennels
Welcome to Ambergate Kennels we were established in 1970 and have cared for generations of pets ever since. We are located midway between Salisbury and Andover just off the A343.
The kennels are set in five acres of grounds where we exercise our dogs individually three times a day. We have two safely enclosed spaces where dogs are encouraged to play ball and are able to run freely. Our heated kennels are warm and cosy, each kennel has a hatch leading to a covered outside run.
Leave your dogs at Ambergate and you can leave for work or holidays knowing they will be safe and well cared for. Our staff are caring and knowledgeable about dogs most have completed their Animal Care qualifications.
Our kennels for all but toy breeds are 5.7 sq. meter with thermostatically controlled heat lamps. We provide beds and bedding and comply with all the relevant legislation. We are licenced by Test Valley Borough Council and have achieved their highest 5 star rating.
Cattery
The Cattery at Ambergate is purpose built for housing single cats and we have larger pens in which we can house two or three cats only if they usually live together.
Cats are housed in UPVC pods which are cosy hygienic and seem very popular with their residents. Beneath the pod is an exercise and feeding area. We provide bedding and litter trays which are changed daily. All the popular brands of feed are always in stock.
We are also able to use owner’s feeds if a cat has particular dietary needs. Where necessary we will administer medications and liaise with local vets if we feel a change in medication might be required.
Whilst leaving a cat in a cattery will restrict its ability to roam freely owners can go away in the knowledge their cat will be safely awaiting their return.
Grooming Parlour
We have our own on site fully equipped grooming parlour. We are able to offer everything from a simple wash and brush up to a full groom for all breeds of dog.
This can be done just before you collect your dog saving customers the time and expense of having to visit a groomers in town.
We also groom cats but only if they are routinely happy to be groomed which many are.
